Douglas J. Skinner is the Sidney Davidson Distinguished Service Professor of Accounting at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics with honors in Accounting and Finance from Macquarie University, Sydney, and both a master’s degree and PhD in Applied Economics from the University of Rochester. Skinner's research focuses on financial reporting, disclosure, auditing, and corporate finance, particularly the capital markets and valuation effects of firms’ financial policies, with publications in top academic journals. He currently teaches Managerial Accounting in the EMBA program and Empirical Research Methods in the Ph.D. program at Booth.
