Biography

Dragos Dancila graduated magna cum laude as an Electrical Engineer from Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) in 2006 and received his Ph.D. degree in Applied Sciences in 2011 from UCL, in collaboration with IMEC. He also obtained a Complementary Master in Business Management from Solvay Business School, Brussels. He has authored and co-authored more than 50 publications, including articles in journals and conferences, and received the Measurement Paper Award at EUCAP 2013. His research is extensive in areas of microwave engineering, focusing on applications such as skin cancer diagnostics, high-resolution THz spectroscopy, glucose detection, and millimeter-wave technologies. As an Associate Professor, he teaches Electronics and Analogue Electronics to Civil Engineering students, guiding classes of a hundred. Dancila has led several high-profile projects, including a Eurostars project on energy-efficient PET cancer diagnostics and various Vinnova-funded initiatives. His research group is involved in developing advanced millimeter-wave circuitry for medical sensing and other innovative wireless technologies. Dancila is also noted for his contributions to the field of RF-MEMS technology and has a strong background in wireless sensors and antenna integration.
