Professor Dr. Drew Marquardt

Biography

Drew Marquardt is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Windsor. He holds a Ph.D. from Brock University and has a research focus on biomaterials, specifically the structure-function relationships in cellular membranes and biology. His group investigates biomembranes and small membrane-bound molecules, employing biophysical data modeling and neutron and X-ray scattering techniques to study these interactions without perturbing probes. The lab focuses on developing new experimental platforms to investigate biological systems, leading to a better understanding of the roles of biomolecules in health and disease. Current research interests include the formulation of new biological membrane mimics, which serve as platforms for drug and imaging agent delivery. Marquardt's interdisciplinary approach integrates principles from chemistry, biology, and physics, fostering an innovative research environment.
