Dr. Duane Mcvay

Biography

Duane McVay is a Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University, where he holds the Albert B. Stevens Chair and serves as the Associate Director of the Crisman Institute for Petroleum Research. He completed his Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University in 1994 and has earned an M.S. and B.S. in the same field from the same university in 1982 and 1980, respectively. His research focuses on risk uncertainty assessment, unconventional resource assessment, petroleum reservoir simulation, and integrated reservoir characterization management. McVay is a recognized expert in his field, being a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 2007 and a member of the Petroleum Engineering Academy of Distinguished Graduates at Texas A&M University, where he was honored in 2015. He has also served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the Society of Petroleum Engineers during the 2015-2016 period, and received a Practice Award from the Decision Analysis Society of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences in 2006. McVay is committed to advancing the field of petroleum engineering through both his teaching and extensive research collaborations.
