Dr. Duff Jones

Biography

Duff Jones is a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Western University. He completed his Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English Literature and Film & Media Studies from Queen's University in 2003, followed by a Master of Public Administration in Defence Management in 2004 from the same institution. In 2006, he earned a Bachelor of Education in Intermediate/Senior (History and English) from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Jones has a background in teaching high school English for seven years within the York Region District School Board, and in 2013, he shifted his focus to study physics at Western University, where he discovered a passion for computer science. He completed his Honours Specialization in Computer Science with a Minor in Game Development in 2018 and is currently enrolled in a PhD program at Western, studying Metaverse Named Data Networking under the supervision of Dr. Hanan Lutfiyya and Dr. Mike Katchabaw. Jones is an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. His research interests include Computing Machinery, Game Development, and Metaverse Named Data Networking.
