Dr. Duncan Watson Parris

Biography

Duncan Watson-Parris is an Assistant Professor at the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on addressing the representation of aerosols and clouds in climate models, which are among the greatest challenges in this field. He has pioneered strategies that utilize data science techniques to tackle these pressing research problems. Prior to his appointment at UC San Diego, he worked as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Oxford. He was hired under the Chancellor’s Joint Full-Time Equivalent initiative, which aims to promote interdisciplinary research, and he also holds a joint appointment at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
