Biography

Dušan Palić is a professor at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, holding the Chair of Fish Diseases and Fisheries Biology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. He obtained his D.V.M. from the University of Belgrade in 1997, a Master’s in Veterinary Preventive Medicine with a focus on Immunology in 2002, and a Ph.D. in Immunobiology of Fisheries Biology from Iowa State University in 2005. His research interests lie in aquatic veterinary medicine, biosecurity, and the health management of fish populations. Prof. Palić has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from infectious diseases in marine organisms to the effects of pollutants on fish health. He has served as the Director of the Center of Excellence in Aquatic Veterinary Medicine and Biosecurity and is a founding Diplomate of the European College of Aquatic Animal Health. His leadership roles also include serving as the Executive Director of the International Aquatic Veterinary Biosecurity Consortium and as Vice President of the European College of Aquatic Animal Health.
