Biography

Dushyant Vyas is a Professor of Accounting and Associate Chair for Faculty and Research in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga, with a cross-appointment in the Accounting area at the Rotman School of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a Master's degree in Finance from Queen’s University. Before joining the University of Toronto, he served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Dushyant’s research interests encompass accounting for financial institutions, the accounting issues arising from recent financial crises, debt contracting, private company accounting, information intermediaries, and international finance accounting issues. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Accounting Review, Journal of International Business Studies, and Contemporary Accounting Research. He has also presented his research at international conferences and has been an invited speaker and panelist at numerous events focusing on financial reporting and the implications of recent financial crises on banks.
