Biography

E. Scott Paxton, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a member of the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He completed his fellowship training at the renowned Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, where he was trained by some of the world's leaders in shoulder and elbow surgery. Dr. Paxton evaluates and treats a wide range of conditions, including rotator cuff tears, shoulder and elbow instability, arthritis, and fractures. He is an attending surgeon at Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, and also serves as a consultant at the Providence V.A. Medical Center. In addition to his clinical practice, he is actively involved in research and education for future orthopaedic surgeons, medical students, residents, and fellows. His research focuses on shoulder and elbow disorders, and he has presented and published many papers on these topics. Dr. Paxton graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where he also completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery.
