Biography

Eamonn obtained an MSci in Chemistry from the University of Bristol, where he conducted research under Dr. Wuge Briscoe and Dr. Gareth Owen. He then pursued a DPhil at the University of Oxford in the laboratory of Professor Dame Carol Robinson, completing his degree in 2015. Following this, Eamonn joined King's College London as a postdoctoral researcher in Professor Paula Booth’s group and was awarded a BBSRC Future Leader Fellowship (known as Discovery) from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, Eamonn became a Lecturer in Chemical Biology and established an independent research group, later being promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2022. He is currently a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow (2019-2027) and Associate Professor in Molecular Biosciences at the University of Southampton. Eamonn is actively involved in multiple external responsibilities, including being a member of the BBSRC Pool of Experts, an editorial board member for the Journal of Biological Chemistry, and serving as the treasurer for the Royal Society of Chemistry's Analytical Bioscience Group.
