Biography

Earl Freymiller is a Professor Emeritus in the UCLA School of Dentistry, specializing in oral maxillofacial surgery. He joined the dental school faculty in 1989 and held the Bob Marion Wilson Endowed Chair in Clinical Dentistry. During his tenure, he served as the chair of the Division of Diagnostic Surgical Sciences and directed the OMFS postgraduate training program, providing comprehensive care to patients at the UCLA Faculty Group Dental Practice. Dr. Freymiller completed his D.M.D. at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 1984, followed by an M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 1986 and a Certificate in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery from Massachusetts General Hospital in 1989. He has received several honors, including the Humanitarian Award from the International Academy of Dentistry in 2008 and the Distinguished Clinical Faculty Award from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2010. In 2014, he was awarded the Arthur Dugoni Faculty Award by the California Dental Association, and most recently, in 2019, he was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club International.
