Biography

Eda Beyazit Ince is a Research Fellow in Active Travel Micromobility at the University of the West of England, Centre for Transport & Society. She holds a DPhil in Transport Geography from the University of Oxford and both BSc and MSc degrees in Urban Planning from Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Previously, she was an Associate Professor of Urban Planning at ITU, where she founded the IstanbulON Urban Mobility Lab, collaborating with universities, businesses, and local authorities to promote inclusive and sustainable mobility solutions. Eda's research focuses on socio-spatial inequalities arising from transport infrastructures, mobility-driven inequalities, gendered mobilities, and the development of low-carbon cities. She has contributed as a consultant on several urban mobility planning projects and was an International Fellow with the Urban Studies Foundation at the University of Manchester, examining the mobility experiences of female domestic workers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her ongoing research includes projects aimed at enhancing transport accessibility in rural areas and investigating the impacts of shared mobility systems in urban planning.
