Biography

Eden Brauer is an Assistant Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing and a member of the Cancer Control and Survivorship Program of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a nurse-scientist, Dr. Brauer's research predominantly focuses on cancer care delivery, specifically integrating patient-reported outcomes and palliative care in clinical models for long-term survivorship. She actively participates in the UCLA Health - JCCC Cancer Services Committee and has served as the Principal Investigator on multiple projects addressing the symptom and functional experiences of cancer survivors, along with system-level challenges linked to implementing evidence-based survivorship care in routine clinical settings. Her research efforts have garnered funding from the National Cancer Institute, the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and the Oncology Nursing Foundation, and she has received numerous honors for her contributions to clinical research. In addition to her research, Dr. Brauer is dedicated to the education and mentorship of future healthcare professionals and scientists, teaching courses in both pre-licensure and doctoral programs at UCLA. She extends her mentorship to a diverse range of students, including undergraduates, medical students, graduate students, residents, and post-doctoral scholars. Prior to joining the faculty at UCLA, Dr. Brauer trained as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and was a Predoctoral Fellow at City Hope. Her clinical nursing background includes roles in oncology and hematology.
