Biography

Edith Leung is a visiting professor in the Section of Accounting, Auditing, and Control at the Department of Business Economics, Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam. She joined the department in 2013 after completing her PhD at Tilburg University and has also conducted research at the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. Her research primarily focuses on disclosures, regulation, and inter-firm relationships, and her work has been published in top international journals including the Journal of Accounting Research and The Accounting Review. Leung received the NWO Veni Grant of 250,000 euros in 2016 for her project on non-GAAP disclosures entitled 'Disclosures of Alternative Performance Metrics: Misleading or Informative?' In addition to her research, she has taught undergraduate courses on intermediate financial accounting to second-year bachelor students as well as master's seminars on financial accounting and auditing research. Leung is a full professor in the Department of Accountancy at Tilburg University and is a member of the Standing Scientific Committee of the European Accounting Association, where she is responsible for selecting academic papers for the Financial Analysis section at the Annual Congress, the largest European conference for accounting scholars.
