Biography

Edmond Lou is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Alberta and also serves as an adjunct professor in the Departments of Surgery and Radiology Diagnostic Imaging, as well as Biomedical Engineering. He is a head research scientist at the Edmonton Scoliosis Research Group and has been a principal investigator at the Artificial Intelligence Supercomputing Hub at the university since 2018. With a strong focus on research, he has published over 150 peer-reviewed journal articles and 200 conference proceeding papers, and has been granted 7 patents for his inventions. His research interests lie primarily in low-power wireless embedded systems, biomedical imaging, instrumentation, sensors, the Internet of Things (IoT), ultrasound imaging, and artificial intelligence. Throughout his academic career, Professor Lou has been dedicated to advancing the field of electrical and computer engineering through innovative research and education.
