Biography

Ed Bertschinger is a professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he has been a faculty member since 1986. He has served as the head of the Astrophysics Division and the Physics Department, in addition to being MIT's inaugural Institute Community Equity Officer. Bertschinger's research focuses on theoretical astrophysics, including gravitation, cosmology, and numerical methods, as well as physics education.
