A proponent of renewable energy, he was pivotal in transitioning Puerto Rico towards 100% renewable energy by 2050. His previous roles include Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, where he represented local government policy to federal interests. He is recognized for his leadership in public-private partnerships and his engagement in climate change dialogues across states and territories. Bhatia has a rich academic background with a B.A. in Public International Affairs from Princeton University and a J.D. from Stanford Law School, and has been a featured speaker in various high-level discussions and forums.
