Eduardo Espina is a Professor at Texas A&M University specializing in 19th, 20th, and 21st century Latin American poetry and essays. He has received multiple awards for his work, including the Premio Nacional de Ensayo Uruguay twice and the Premio Municipal de Poesía in 1998. His poetry has been featured in more than 40 anthologies and studied across universities in the United States, Europe, and Latin America, and translated into several languages. In 2007, he was honored with the Texas A&M University Association of Students Distinguished Teaching Award and participated in a prominent symposium celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Center for Teaching Excellence.
