Biography

Edward Brewer, MD, is an Assistant Professor at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Radiology. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia and later attended the Boston University School of Medicine through a U.S. Navy Health Professions Scholarship. After graduating from medical school, he served as a medical officer in the Navy, completing his internship at the Portsmouth Virginia Naval Medical Center. Dr. Brewer undertook additional training in undersea medicine at the Naval Undersea Medical Institute and the Naval Diving Salvage Training Center. He subsequently served as an Undersea Medical Officer at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. Following his military service, Dr. Brewer completed a diagnostic radiology residency at Lahey Clinic and a neuroradiology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he has practiced emergency radiology since finishing his fellowship in 2011.
