Edward Chouchani joined the faculty of Harvard Medical School in 2017. He received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where he was part of the MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit. Following this, he performed postdoctoral research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. In 2024, he became an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Chouchani's research focuses on deciphering the molecular mechanisms that drive metabolic disease, particularly through the use of information to develop targeted therapeutic strategies. His lab, the Chouchani Lab, combines mass spectrometry and targeted pharmacological approaches in vivo to understand how mitochondrial redox metabolism controls physiology in clinically relevant mouse models of obesity and diabetes.
