Biography

Edward Freeland is the Executive Director of the Princeton University Survey Research Center and also serves as a lecturer in the School of Public and International Affairs, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate seminars focused on social science research methods. He has an extensive background in research and has played significant roles in various capacities including Chair of the University’s Institutional Review Board and as an ad hoc member on grant review committees within the Social Science Population Studies Section at the National Institutes of Health. His prior experience includes serving as the Senior Research Director at the Social Policy Research Group and as Survey Director at Mathematica Policy Research, where he oversaw large-scale research studies sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, Health and Human Services, and Labor. Freeland holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Princeton University, an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Virginia, and a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Connecticut.
