Biography

Edward Gaiser is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP) specializing in neurocritical care at Yale New Haven Hospital. He obtained his Master of Science in Nursing from Yale University, focusing on critical care, as well as a post-baccalaureate pre-medical professions certificate from the University of Hartford. Edward earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. Before returning to school to become an ACNP, he conducted research at the Yale School of Medicine's Yale PET Center, focusing on topics such as dopamine, reward, addiction, obesity, social status, and neuroinflammation. Currently, he works at the Yale PET Center and provides medical coverage. During graduate school, Edward received funding to study the biomarkers of insomnia, autonomic function, inflammation, and heart failure disease progression. He is a member of the Neurocritical Care Society, the Society of Vascular Interventional Neurology, and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, as well as Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
