Biography

Edward J. Glantz is a Teaching Professor and Director of Master's Programs at the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology. He has been a faculty member since 2009 and has received several awards including the Dean's Circle Excellence Award, McMurtry Teaching Award, and Thomas Community Service Award. Before joining the College of IST, he served for ten years in the Smeal College of Business, where he received the Brand-Paiste Teaching Award for outstanding faculty performance. Glantz has extensive experience in management across technology, research, marketing, and manufacturing within the telecommunication industries and has been involved with startups. He has developed and taught various courses related to cybersecurity, information security, enterprise architecture, and risk management. His current research focuses on enhancing risk identification to create value for organizations. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Sciences and Technology, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business, and degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Liberal Arts from Penn State. Ed has lived and worked in multiple locations including Germany, Canada, New York, California, Washington, and New Jersey. He is registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
