Dr. Edward Hadas

Biography

Edward Hadas is a Professor at Oxford Lifelong Learning, University of Oxford, where he teaches and provides training in writing and various topics including philosophy, history, economics, and finance. He has an extensive academic background, having earned a BA in Mathematics from Columbia University, an MA in Philosophy and Classics from the University of Oxford, and an MBA from the University of Binghamton. Before joining Oxford in 2017, Hadas had a long career as a finance equity analyst from 1980 to 2004 and served as a financial journalism columnist for Reuters Breakingviews. His research focuses on reformulating social science disciplines based on a realistic understanding of human nature, as well as developing realistic economic models. Hadas is actively completing a synthetic study titled 'Prometheus, Pandora, Philoctetes, Cross, Four Narratives Modernity' and has published various works including 'Human Goods, Economic Evils: A Moral Look at the Dismal Science' and 'Counsels of Imperfection: Thinking Catholic Social Teaching.'
