Edward Lemaire received a PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and an MSc in Biomechanics from the University of Ottawa. He holds an academic appointment at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and is a member of the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Computer Science and the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Biomedical Engineering. Lemaire is currently the President-Elect of the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics (ISPO) and serves on its International Scientific Committee. His research interests focus on technologies that enhance mobility for people with physical disabilities, including wearable technologies to improve mobility assessment and outcome measurement, as well as biomechanical investigations of pathological human movement.
