Biography

Edwin Atitsogbui is a PhD researcher at the University of Glasgow's School of Education, holding a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ghana. His research focuses on early childhood education and its impact on future educational outcomes in Ghana, utilizing a quasi-experimental design. Before joining the University of Glasgow, Edwin served as a Tutor in Economics and Statistics at Glasgow International College and as a research assistant at the University of Ghana Business School, where he primarily taught Health Economics and provided research support in the field. He has contributed to scholarly discussions on the impact of COVID-19, co-authoring a book chapter titled 'Effect of Pandemics on Trade: Case of COVID-19.' Edwin has also worked on projects with the International Growth Centre at the London School of Economics as a Research Assistant and has provided support for research on language and livelihoods with the University of Glasgow’s School of Education and the Centre for Research on Globalisation and Education Policies (GEPS) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. Currently, he is engaged in a project funded by GPE KIX IDRC, aimed at understanding innovative education projects related to gender equality and inclusion in Ethiopia, Malawi, and Uganda. Additionally, his research interests include education, skills development, and the relationship between unemployment duration and multilingualism in the labor market in Ghana, as well as the impacts of AI products in educational outcomes in developing countries.
