Dr. Edwin Peel

Biography

Edwin Peel is an Emeritus Professor of Law at Keble College, University of Oxford. He has previously served as a full-time Professor and Faculty Fellow, and as a Tutor in Law at Keble College. Peel is also an arbitrator at Essex Court Chambers and his teaching focuses on Commercial Remedies and Conflict of Laws. He has been actively involved in civil law training for the Judicial College in Oxford and regularly speaks at law firms about developments in law. His research interests are primarily in the area of Contract Law, and he is known for his work on 'Treitel: The Law of Contract', currently responsible for its 12th edition. Peel has published numerous chapters, articles, and notes primarily in the realms of Contract Law, Tort Law, and Conflict of Laws, contributing to significant legal discourses through his written work. His publications include several editions of key legal texts on Contract Law and numerous journal articles that address pivotal cases and legal principles within Private International Law.
