Egemen Kolemen is a Professor at Princeton University in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, jointly appointed to the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment and Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL). He directs the Sustainable Energy program and has received the David J. Rose Excellence in Fusion Engineering Award as well as the Technical Accomplishment Award from the American Nuclear Society. He is recognized as an ITER Scientist Fellow. His research combines engineering with physics analysis to enable economically feasible fusion reactors. Currently, he leads research in machine learning, real-time diagnostics, and control for KSTAR, NSTX-U, and DIII-D. He directs labs focusing on liquid metal divertor and low temperature diagnostics. On the theoretical side, his group develops software for stellarator optimization and economical analysis of fusion reactors.
GRE scores are not accepted. Ph.D. is the primary degree; students are not required to hold an M.S.E. prior to admission.
