Biography

Dr. Ehab Abdelmalek is a board-certified Obstetrician Gynecologist with over 15 years of clinical experience. He received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt, and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. He has joined the Downstate faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor, where he serves the community through healthcare resources. Dr. Abdelmalek is involved in research to help improve conditions for patients, and his dedication led to his promotion as Director of Labor and Delivery, where he oversaw multiple quality improvement and patient safety initiatives, including achieving Baby-Friendly accreditation for the facility. He has received multiple awards for excellence in clinical care and education for medical students and resident physicians. His strong commitment to improving women’s health focuses on a full spectrum of obstetrical care, health maintenance and preventive care, cervical dysplasia, abnormal uterine bleeding, sexually transmitted infections, complex contraception, and gynecologic surgery.
