Biography

Ehab Shehata is a Board-Certified Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon with over 30 years of experience in medical dental surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, in 1988, followed by a master's degree in general surgery in 1993, and a dental degree in 1997. He completed his doctorate in 2005. In 2003, he finished a Fellowship at Guy’s and St Thomas’ University Hospitals in London. Dr. Shehata has served on the faculty at the University of Kentucky and as the Pre-Doctoral Program Director at the University of Maryland. Currently, he is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry, where he has been since 2021. He also serves as a staff surgeon at Baylor University Medical Center among other hospitals, where he helps train 20 residents annually. Dr. Shehata is the Course Director for Medical Emergencies at Texas A&M College of Dentistry and the Caruth School of Dental Hygiene, lecturing on a wide range of advanced topics. His research contributions include 17 peer-reviewed publications and he is actively involved as a scientific reviewer for international journals. In 2024, he was named a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and he is recognized nationally and internationally for his work, particularly in minimally invasive parotid surgery techniques.
