Ehab Zalok is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University. He holds a B.Sc. from the Military Technical College, an M.A.Sc. from Ain Shams University, and a Ph.D. from Carleton University. His research focuses on Structural Fire Safety Engineering, particularly investigating fire-structure interaction and performance-based fire-structural designs. Dr. Zalok aims to enhance the understanding of fire behavior in reinforced concrete structures and evaluate their fire safety through experimental work and computer modeling. Currently, his research includes improving fire endurance in concrete block masonry walls and developing next-generation fire performance standards. He is also actively involved in teaching various courses related to fire safety and engineering mechanics at Carleton University. Ehab is committed to integrating building information models with fire simulation software to analyze the fire resistance of building elements and optimize construction practices for enhanced safety.
