Biography

Ehtesham Baig is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed his undergraduate degree in Immunology before enrolling in medical school at Queen's University. Following this, he underwent training in Anesthesiology at the University of Toronto, culminating in 2016. In 2018, he became part of the inaugural class to complete training in Pain Medicine at the same institution. Currently, he is pursuing a fellowship in interventional cancer pain management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, which is partly funded by the Detweiler Traveling Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Dr. Baig is actively involved in curriculum development for both undergraduate and postgraduate education with a particular focus on training in pain medicine. His clinical interests encompass cancer palliative pain management, utilizing both medical and interventional treatment modalities to alleviate suffering in patients.
