Dr. Eihab Abdel Rahman

Biography

Eihab Abdel-Rahman is a Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo. His research interests focus on nonlinear dynamics and the behavior of electromechanical and biomechanical systems, especially in the development of Micro- and Nano-Electromechanical Systems (MEMS/NEMS). He has made significant contributions to the areas of sensors, actuators, energy harvesting, and workplace ergonomics. His work includes the study of vibrations control, nonlinear systems, and complex systems dynamics, encompassing aspects like bifurcations and chaos. Abdel-Rahman has published numerous articles in prominent engineering journals, further establishing his expertise in these innovative technologies. Through his teaching, he emphasizes the fundamentals of dynamics and biomechanics, preparing students for advancements in engineering applications. He has educated many students through various courses, including those on dynamics in both basic and specialized topics related to systems design.
