Biography

Eirini Apostolidou, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University. She completed her medical degree at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, graduating as valedictorian. Dr. Apostolidou finished her residency in internal medicine at Drexel College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a cardiovascular fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She has advanced training in echocardiography, specializing in 3-dimensional echocardiography and peri-operative transesophageal echocardiography. Dr. Apostolidou has, for nearly five years, practiced as a non-invasive cardiologist and echocardiographer at Brown University's Cardiovascular Institute. Currently based at Tufts Medical Center, her clinical focus is on women’s cardiac health. She has received the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award twice (2017, 2020) and is actively involved in the education of fellows, residents, and medical students. Her research focuses on cardiac imaging and novel treatment techniques for valvular heart disease. Dr. Apostolidou has published extensively in leading cardiology journals and holds fellowships with the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.
