Biography

Eirini Nedelkopoulou is a lecturer in Digital Arts at the University of Glasgow, where she has been since September 2019. She has held previous academic positions as a lecturer and Associate Professor at York St John University and the University of Reading, respectively. Nedelkopoulou earned her BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Patras, Greece, and her MA in Theatre Directing from Royal Holloway, University of London. She completed her PhD in mixed-media theatre phenomenology at the University of Reading. Her research focuses on digital practices influenced by her background in performance theory, particularly exploring concepts of perception, embodiment, and the philosophy of technology. As a committed advocate of interdisciplinary research, her primary interest lies in the human-technological symbiosis within art and performance. Nedelkopoulou has contributed to significant publications, including "Performance Phenomenology: Traditions Transformations" and various special issues in academic journals. She is currently working on a monograph titled "Solitude: Philosophy Digital Performance Encounters" with Bloomsbury, investigating the role of solitude in digitally connected performances. She also welcomes supervision inquiries from prospective doctoral students, especially those interested in digital intermedial practices and performance phenomenology.
