Elahe Alizadeh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and a Master's in Medical-Radiation Physics from Amirkabir University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. She obtained her PhD in Nano-Bio-Physics from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. In 2010, Dr. Alizadeh joined Professor Sanche’s lab at the Department of Radiobiology at Université de Sherbrooke, QC, Canada, as a postdoctoral research fellow where she designed and constructed a new X-ray apparatus to investigate radiation damage to DNA complexed with radio-sensitizing chemotherapeutic agents for chemoradiation therapy. Her achievements were recognized with the Radiation Research Society Jack Fowler Award in 2013 for outstanding research in medical physics and radiobiology. In January 2016, she joined the Department of Medical Imaging at the University of Saskatchewan to establish a pre-clinical research program focused on developing novel radiopharmaceuticals with therapeutic and diagnostic capabilities, and is involved in managing an imaging facility equipped with a µPET/SPECT/CT scanner and a radio-chemistry lab. Dr. Alizadeh plays an active role in the Occupational Health Committee at the Saskatchewan Cyclotron Centre and is a certified Radiation Safety Officer in Canada.
