Biography

Dr. Elaine Moody received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Honours degree from St. Francis Xavier University, followed by a Master of Science and PhD in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. Her scholarship focuses on understanding the context of health and health care for older people, particularly those with complex health and social care needs, including frailty and multimorbidity associated with dementia. Dr. Moody’s research aims to enhance support for older individuals in various care settings, including community, primary care, and acute hospital environments. She is a member of the Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association and the Canadian Association on Gerontology. Dr. Moody has been involved in numerous research funding initiatives exploring care models for aging populations and the effectiveness of interventions in improving nursing care for people with dementia.
