Dr. Elena Chachko

Biography

Elena Chachko is an Assistant Professor at Berkeley Law, having previously served as the inaugural Rappaport Fellow at Harvard Law School. Her research focuses on the intersection of law and geopolitics, exploring topics such as international cooperation, the role of administrative agencies in engaging with international norms, and the dynamics of emergency governance within domestic and international institutions. Professor Chachko has also investigated security implications of technological governance, national security in the context of economic regulations, and the rise of economic warfare in international relations. Furthermore, her work addresses models of responsibility sharing for refugees and asylum seekers. She is recognized for her award-winning scholarship and has published extensively in both academic and media outlets.
