Dr. Elena Kantorowicz Reznichenko

Biography

Elena Kantorowicz-Reznichenko has an interdisciplinary background, having obtained degrees in law, psychology, and law economics. Her research primarily focuses on empirical legal studies, employing empirical methods to investigate questions in various areas of law, including constitutional law, copyright law, administrative law, and international criminal law. She is recognized as an international expert on day fines, with a particular focus on European national criminal justice systems, and conducts research in the field of International Criminal Law. Due to the novelty and societal relevance of her research, she has secured grants to execute her studies and has published in leading international journals through renowned publishing houses. Additionally, she is a member of the Research Ethics Review Committee at ESL and serves as the academic coordinator for the European Doctorate in Law and Economics. Elena has also co-directed the Erasmus Centre of Empirical Legal Studies, which aims to promote the application of empirical and computational methods in legal research education in the Netherlands. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a criminal prosecutor at the District Attorney’s Office in Israel.
