Dr. Elena Lindholm

Biography

Elena Lindholm is an Associate Professor in the Department of Language Studies at Umeå University, specializing in Spanish literature, particularly in the context of early 20th-century works. Her research focuses on feminist literature and the representation of female authors during this period, with ongoing projects that explore themes such as feminism and sexualities in early 20th-century Europe. Lindholm has conducted detailed studies on the works of Spanish feminist Carmen de Burgos, examining her depictions of Scandinavia and discussing the social implications of her travel writing. As a senior lecturer, she primarily teaches Spanish-language literature at both undergraduate and advanced levels while also supervising postgraduate students.
