Professor Romanova received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the Belarusian State University in Minsk, Belarus, and her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois under the supervision of Jonathan Sweedler in 2005. She became a faculty member of the Department of Chemistry at UIUC as a Research Assistant Professor in January 2019. Her research direction emphasizes bioanalytical chemistry with a focus on microanalysis, mass spectrometry, and liquid separation techniques for measurement and characterization of biomolecules and/or drugs within the nervous and neuroendocrine systems.
