Professor Dr. Eleonora Ferraris

Biography

Eleonora Ferraris is a senior academic staff member at KU Leuven's Department of Mechanical Engineering, located at the De Nayer Campus in Sint-Katelijne-Waver. She is involved in various research projects focused on additive manufacturing, 3D printing technologies, and bioelectronics. Her recent research initiatives include exploring the quality of bonds in extrusion 3D printing and investigating multiphase flow phenomena in aerosol jet printing. In addition, she has a strong focus on developing novel neural biomimetic interfaces and employing data-driven methods in 3D printing processes. Ferraris has contributed to several publications, including significant work on deep learning-based characterization of fused filament fabrication. She actively participates in curriculum development and departmental governance within the Faculty of Engineering Technology.
