Biography

Elham Salimi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba. She holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the same institution, obtained in 2017, and also earned her MSc and BSc degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manitoba and Amirkabir University of Technology, respectively. Dr. Salimi's research primarily focuses on the development of electrical-based microfluidic sensors for various applications in the medical, biopharmaceutical, and environmental sectors. She leads the Biosensors Research Lab, where her research team develops novel methods for label-free analysis of biological phenomena, such as apoptosis and electroporation. The lab is well-equipped with sophisticated microfluidic device fabrication tools and microwave electronic measurement systems to support her ongoing research projects and facilitate graduate student opportunities.
