Biography

Elias Koutsoupias is a professor of computer science at the University of Oxford, where he has contributed significantly to the field of algorithmic game theory. His research interests encompass the algorithmic aspects of game theory, economic networks, online algorithms, decision-making under uncertainty, and the design and analysis of algorithms. He was awarded the Gödel Prize in 2012 for his foundational work on price anarchy, which laid the groundwork for algorithmic game theory. Additionally, he is a recipient of the ERC Advanced Grant for his project titled 'Algorithms, Games, Mechanisms, Price Anarchy'. Prior to his current role at Oxford, he held faculty positions at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Athens. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and completed his Ph.D. in computer science at the University of California, San Diego.
