Biography

Elin Käck is a Senior Associate Professor at Linköping University specializing in poetry and poetics. Her core research lies in the relationship between literature and place, particularly examining American modernist and postwar poets' travel experiences in Europe. With a focus on modernist poetry, her interests encompass American and Scandinavian literature, aesthetics, and the intersections of literary history and art history. Käck's doctoral dissertation, 'Swarming European Consciousness: Europe and the Tradition in the Work of William Carlos Williams', explored Williams's relationship with Europe. She has published works on notable poets such as H.D., Marianne Moore, and F. Scott Fitzgerald, addressing themes like ecopoetics and the cultural implications of poetry within educational contexts. Käck is also involved in several research projects, including one examining how modern American poets engage with higher education. Her collaborations include leadership roles in the William Carlos Williams Society and initiatives promoting poetry education in schools. She regularly teaches courses in English and Comparative Literature at the doctoral and undergraduate levels.
