Biography

Elinor Sloan is a Professor in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University, having joined in 2002. With over six years of experience as a defence analyst with the Department of National Defence, she focuses on United States defence policy and advanced military technologies. Before completing her PhD, she served as a logistics officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, graduating from the Royal Military College of Canada. Dr. Sloan has published extensively on Canadian defence and security topics. Her teaching areas include International Security Studies, Transatlantic Security Issues, and North American Security and Defence Policy. Currently, she is working on a book manuscript concerning the Domains of War for the Canadian Armed Forces and a SSHRC-funded research project on naval shipbuilding strategies in Canada and its close allies.
