Biography

Elisa Bellotti is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Manchester and co-director of the Mitchell Centre for Social Network Analysis. Her work primarily focuses on social networks and their impact on social environments. She investigates topics such as science, criminal networks, personal relationships, and health consumption, with a particular interest in how gender influences social networks. Bellotti applies a relational sociology perspective, integrating diverse qualitative and quantitative methods to study the societal implications of social networking. She is committed to supervising PhD students and collaborating on research involving social network analysis within various sociological fields, especially in relation to gender and mixed methods.
