Biography

Elisa Macchi is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Brown University, beginning her position in January 2023. She received her PhD from the University of Zurich in 2021 and a master's degree from the University of Bologna in 2015. Her research lies at the intersection of development and behavioral economics, focusing on the role of social preferences and relational contracts in contexts characterized by significant information frictions, particularly in developing countries. Macchi's work also investigates the determinants of health behavior and mental health.
