Dr. Elisabetta Matsumoto

Biography

Elisabetta Matsumoto is an Associate Professor in the School of Physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on Soft Condensed Matter Physics, Geometry of Materials, and Applied Mathematics, with particular emphasis on Materials Engineering and Nonlinear Elasticity. Matsumoto has an extensive academic background, with a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania obtained in 2011, an MS in Physics in 2007, and a BA in Physics also from the University of Pennsylvania completed in 2007. She completed postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard University in Applied Mathematics and the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science. Through her work, she contributes significantly to the field of materials science and mathematical modeling, bridging theoretical analysis and practical applications.
