Biography

Elisavet Papathanasoglou is a Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta. She joined the university in 2015, having a significant academic background since 1999. Papathanasoglou's research interests integrate basic science and nursing management for acutely ill patients, focusing on the effects of non-pharmacological interventions to mitigate stress responses in critical care settings. Her clinical research spans across various aspects such as the role of stress, neuropeptides, and the pathophysiology of critical illness. She has delivered numerous invited lectures and is recognized for her contributions to the field with an extensive list of publications and citations. Her role as the Scientific Director of Neurosciences, Rehabilitation & Vision Strategic Clinical Network at Alberta Health Services highlights her commitment to improving patient outcomes through research innovation.
